Pushing Boundaries With Clients to Pursue Justice and Human Rights
My consulting practice reflects twenty years of experience advocating for human rights and the rule of law in the US and Iraq. My work in international development is grounded in my foundational experience of representing over 300 clients. I take a client-centered and trauma-informed approach that guides my services to non governmental organizations, businesses, governments, and media outlets focused on human rights, justice, and the ethical documentation of sexual violence in conflict zones.
My specialization lies in providing technical advice on rule of law initiatives, informed consent policies and practices, ethical engagement with survivors, and the provision of survivors-centered legal services. The expertise I offer is enriched by extensive cross-cultural experience and a deep understanding of the challenges faced by populations in conflict-affected areas.
The name Taboo draws attention to the silence surrounding abuse that leads to stigma and the silencing victims and survivors. When we remove the stigma and shame that is attached to the victims and survivors, we pave the way with them to pursue justice.
